This was so great and insightful Nick. This guy is not a human being and may even get into heaven based on his own merit (just kidding). Even in the midst of Kobe's sex scandal he seemed untouchable as he drove away unscathed, in his top of the line, leather interior, SUV, with his smoking hot, new jewelry wearing, wife. Fascinating stuff Nick! I too have had a dislike for Kobe for a long time. He is an amazing b-ball player, but he's missing that je ne sais quoi (French for "I don't know what") that Magic and MJ had and now Shaq (although on his way out) and Lebron have. I would have liked to put Bird in there, but while a fierce competitor and one of the best ever, his personality was less than compelling (sorry Larry).

Anyhow, this may be the same reason why Superman 2 is better than any of the others (he gives up his power) or the reason why Batman is better than Superman all the time, IMHO of course:)
Relatability is important.
